Latest update from Network Rail regarding the bridge works:
We continue to make good progress at Fulscot Road. The current status of the works is as follows:
North Capping beam to sheet piles
South capping beam to sheet piles – ongoing
Complete by 01/08
Capping beam for augured piles
Ties (abutment/augured piling cap) back fill
L-units (delivery 01/07 onwards)
28 delivered so far complete by
Road works (sub-base/kerbs/drainage)
complete by 06/08
complete by 22/08
complete by 29/08
We are still on target for opening the road by early September 2014.

RWE NPower is due to blow up three of the southern cooling towers between 03:00 BST and 05:00 BST on 27 July. It will be done before dawn as they are big spoil sports and possibly some other reasons as well.
