{"id":606,"date":"2014-10-10T21:51:52","date_gmt":"2014-10-10T20:51:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.southmoreton.org.uk\/?p=606"},"modified":"2014-10-10T22:16:46","modified_gmt":"2014-10-10T21:16:46","slug":"bus-service-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.southmoreton.org.uk\/?p=606","title":{"rendered":"Bus service review"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Oxford county council are undertaking a review of the current bus service in the area and all opinions are greatly welcomed.<\/p>\n<p>Information on the review can be viewed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southmoreton.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/Reviewconsultationletter.pdf\">here <\/a>and if you have an interest or opinion could you please contct <a href=\"mailto:\/\/roger.templeman@southmoreton.org.uk\">roger.templeman@southmoreton.org.uk<\/a> by 10th November at the latest to allow time for submission prior to the 15th November OCC deadline.<\/p>\n<p>A new forum topic has been raised for any views.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Bus service facts<\/h3>\n<p><strong>ITEM M<\/strong><strong> <strong>Services 94\/95<\/strong> <strong>Contract V32: Didcot \u2013 Hagbournes \u2013 Blewbury<\/strong> <\/strong>Circular services linking Didcot with East Hagbourne, West Hagbourne, Blewbury and Upton (94) and North Moreton, South Moreton, Aston Tirrold, Blewbury and East Hagbourne (95)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Operator<\/strong> Thames Travel<\/p>\n<p><strong>Days of operation<\/strong> Monday to Saturday<\/p>\n<p><strong>Frequency<\/strong> 94: single morning peak journey, two evening peak journeys, broadly two-hourly off-peak circular service 95: early morning, early evening and four off-peak journeys<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parishes served<\/strong> Didcot, East Hagbourne, West Hagbourne, North Moreton, South Moreton, Aston Tirrold, Aston Upthorpe, Upton, Blewbury<\/p>\n<p><strong>Divisions served<\/strong> Didcot East and Hagbourne, Didcot Ladygrove, Didcot West, Hendreds and Harwell<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alternative services<\/strong>\u00b7 North Moreton, South Moreton, East Hagbourne, Aston Tirrold, Aston Upthorpe and Blewbury are all linked with Wallingford on Fridays only by Whites Coaches service 131 (not currently under review) \u00b7 Upton and West Hagbourne have no other bus service<\/p>\n<p><strong>Current subsidy per annum<\/strong> \u00a379,591<\/p>\n<p><strong>Average passenger journeys per day<\/strong> 151 <strong>Cost per passenger journey<\/strong> \u00a31.73<\/p>\n<p><strong>Officers\u2019 comments<\/strong>\u00b7 On 14 surveyed journeys, a total of 40 passengers (less than 3 per journey) have been recorded travelling on the section of route unique to service 95 (serving Aston Tirrold, Aston Upthorpe, North Moreton, South Moreton and Didcot Tesco). \u00b7 The section of route to\/from Milton Park is provided commercially by Thames Travel. As there is little evidence of use, continuation of this facility has to be considered doubtful. \u00b7 Early morning and later evening journeys would appear to be little used (with a maximum of 4 passengers recorded on the first two and last two journeys of the day). Continuation of these facilities may be unsustainable. \u00b7 Although their importance to the communities they serve is appreciated, some changes to services 94 and 95 (for example reduction in frequency and\/or combination with other routes) may be necessary, particularly if tender prices for these routes increase.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Oxford county council are undertaking a review of the current bus service in the area and all opinions are greatly welcomed.
